Discover Majelen: An Australian Singer-Songwriter, Musician and Loop Artist

Australia has a rich history of singer-songwriters creating music that connects with audiences through honest songwriting, distinctive performances and a strong sense of individuality.

Among the independent artists continuing that tradition is Majelen, an Australian singer-songwriter, musician and live looping artist blending acoustic guitar, pop-rock influences and positive songwriting into her own distinctive sound.

Combining the musical energy of a full-band performance with the creativity of a solo musician, Majelen creates music that celebrates love, life, connection and the importance of making the most of every moment.

An Australian musician with a passion for songwriting

Majelen's musical journey has been shaped by a lifelong connection to music and a background in formal musical training.

With a degree from the Conservatorium, majoring in Jazz Guitar, she brings a strong musical foundation to her work as a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and performer.

Her musical approach combines technical ability with an appreciation for accessible, melodic songwriting. Drawing on pop, rock and acoustic influences, her music is designed to connect with listeners while giving her room to explore different sounds and arrangements.

Artists such as Ed Sheeran and Tash Sultana provide useful comparisons for the combination of songwriting and live looping found in Majelen's performances, although her own catalogue and creative direction continue to define her as an independent artist.

A sound built around acoustic guitar and live looping

One of the defining features of Majelen's music is her use of live looping.

Using a loop station, she builds musical arrangements in real time, layering guitar parts, rhythms and vocals to create a fuller sound from a solo performance.

This approach allows her to bring the energy of a band to the stage while maintaining the intimacy and spontaneity of an acoustic singer-songwriter.

Her original songs sit within the pop-rock and acoustic music space, combining memorable melodies with lyrics exploring love, relationships, personal experiences and positivity.

An independent artist who creates her own recordings

Majelen is not only a songwriter and performer but also a professional recording, mixing and mastering engineer.

Much of her recorded music is produced from a converted Toyota Coaster bus studio, which travels with her around Australia.

The mobile studio allows Majelen to record, mix and master her own music while continuing to explore new places and experiences.

This independent approach gives her creative control over the entire recording process, from the initial songwriting ideas through to the finished release.

It also means that the environment in which the music is created is closely connected to the life Majelen leads outside the studio.

Original music about love, life and positivity

At the centre of Majelen's songwriting is a desire to create music that makes people feel good.

Her songs explore themes including love, courage, joy, relationships, personal challenges and living life fully.

While the music often carries an uplifting spirit, it also makes room for the more complicated experiences that come with being human.

Majelen's growing RED era brings together her original pop-rock and acoustic releases, including three full-length albums and the Christmas EP Believe. The project continues to evolve, with further RED releases planned as the musical era progresses.

Bringing Australian music to audiences around the world

As an independent Australian musician, Majelen continues to develop her audience through original releases, live performances, social media and connections with music communities.

Her work has taken her beyond Australia, with previous performances across the UK and Europe, including festival appearances and international events.

With further international performances planned, Majelen is continuing to introduce her music to audiences who enjoy acoustic artists, pop-rock songwriting and creative live performances.
